Quick summary
A Hemet Laundromat About 12 Minutes From 412 Church
The Laundry Basket is a coin-operated laundromat at 145 E. Stetson Ave. in Hemet, CA 92543, about 4.6 miles south of 412 Church. That’s roughly a 12-minute drive down State Street. We’re open until midnight every day, an attendant is on-site, and there’s parking in front and in back. Our washers and dryers take quarters and tokens, and three change machines turn your bills into quarters.
Here’s the honest answer if you searched for a laundromat near 412 Church: we’re not the closest one. Our sister location, The Laundry Hamper in San Jacinto, is about 2.3 miles from the church. But a lot of San Jacinto families already come to Hemet to run errands, and we sit right in the middle of them. The Hemet DMV is directly behind our building, and across the street is the area’s only UPS Store. There isn’t one in San Jacinto. Ship your package, then get the laundry done in the same trip. You can also see the other San Jacinto Valley landmarks near us.

Laundry Day for 412 Church Families
412 Church, at 1450 W. 7th St. in San Jacinto, holds four services every Sunday, and the last one starts at 5:00 p.m. During the week, its group meetings draw people from both San Jacinto and Hemet. Every year on October 31, its Fall Fest fills the campus with families. In the summer, VBS draws kids in mass.
Sunday is laundry day for a lot of households, and since we’re open until midnight every day, there’s still time after the evening service. After Fall Fest, bring in the costumes, picnic blankets, and anything else that came home covered in grass and candy.
Our 32 front-load washers come in sizes for every kind of load:
- 2-load washers ($3.25) for everyday clothes and Sunday best
- 3- and 4-load washers ($5.00 and $6.25) for a full week of family laundry
- 6- and 8-load washers ($8.50 and $11.00) for comforters, bedding, and heavy blankets
Dryers run 4 to 6 minutes per quarter, depending on the size you choose.
why choose us
Cleaner, Safer, and Staffed Since 2018
When we took over this Stetson Avenue laundromat in February 2018, it had a 2.5-star rating and a reputation for loitering and trouble. We replaced every washer and dryer with made-in-USA Dexter machines, added full air conditioning, and put an attendant on the floor. Today we have a 4.6-star Google rating, and regulars, first-time visitors, and travelers passing through all tell us we’re the cleanest laundromat in town.
The next thing people ask about is broken machines. Our co-owner repairs every machine himself instead of waiting on an outside service call, so about 99% of our washers and dryers are running on any given day.
- An attendant on-site all day, except for a short lunch break
- 12 security cameras that Hemet police officers have told us are the best in the area
- Washers wiped down inside, door seals included, after every load
- Full air conditioning for hot valley afternoons
- Veteran-owned and locally run
- Algunos de nuestros encargados hablan español.

you have options
Wash It Yourself, Dry Only, or Drop It Off
Did your washer at home quit with the clothes still wet? Bring them in and just use a dryer. Most laundromats save their dryers for wash customers. We don’t. If your washer won’t even turn on, Bob Vila has a short checklist to run through before calling for repairs. Your laundry doesn’t have to wait in the meantime.
Would you rather skip laundry altogether? Try our Fluff & Fold drop-off service. Bring at least 15 lbs and we’ll wash, dry, and fold it for you, which makes it easy to drop off before a DMV appointment. Next-day service is $1.50 per pound, ready after 12 pm the following day. Same-day service is $2.25 per pound when you drop off before 11 am, ready after 6 pm. Fluff & Fold accepts cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App, and paying cash skips the 1.25% card fee. Our storage space is limited, so please pick up your order as soon as it’s ready.
The self-serve washers and dryers here take quarters and tokens only. Tokens bought at The Laundry Basket also work at The Laundry Hamper in San Jacinto, about 3.8 miles away, and many of our San Jacinto customers use both shops.
That second shop comes in handy for another reason. Our part of Hemet sees power outages from time to time, and an outage can stop a load mid-cycle. If that happens while you’re here, we’ll send you to The Laundry Hamper to finish your laundry at no additional cost. For 412 Church families, it’s right on the way home.
