You've probably had a laundry day go wrong somewhere else — a machine that eats your quarters, told you can't just dry, a facility that hasn't been mopped in a month, or a dryer that leaves your towels damp. That's not what happens here. This is a laundromat in Hemet built around big machines, a clean space, and a few simple promises we keep every day.

Mega Washers & Dryers
At The Laundry Basket you can easily run three loads at once, or one big load, and be done. Either way, you leave with clean laundry, not a half-finished pile you have to haul home wet. View our prices and see for yourself.
This is one of the reasons people search for a laundromat near me in Hemet that can handle more than a couple pairs of jeans. Big machines mean fewer trips and less time standing around waiting for a second cycle. Learn about how and why machine size matters.
32 Washers
20 lb., 30 lb., 40 lb., 60 lb., and the mega 80 lb. load capacity
36 Dryers

Reliability
99% of Machines Working, Every Day
Too many broken machines is the most annoying problem there is at a laundromat. That's why we check every washer and dryer daily and keep 99% of our machines running and ready, day in and day out. If something does break, we don't leave it broken for a week — we fix it ourselves fast, because a laundromat full of "Out of Order" signs isn't one anyone wants to drive back to.
top-notch cleanliness
A Clean Facility You Can Count On
Nobody wants to load clean clothes into a dirty washer. Ewww! The Laundry Basket takes pride in cleanliness, and our friendly and professional attendants keep everything clean and running, every single day.
Forgot your detergent, or want a snack while you wait? We sell both right here, so you don't have to run to the store and risk losing your machine to someone else.
A clean laundromat in Hemet shouldn't be hard to find. It should be the easy part of your day, not one more thing to brace yourself for. Cleanliness is also the top reasons why our customers keep coming back.

Broken Dryer?

Some laundromats won't let you use their dryers unless you washed there too — we don't do that at The Laundry Basket. Broken washer at home? Bring your wet load in and dry it here, no wash purchase required, no questions asked.
Comfort with you in mind
Air-Conditioned Laundromat in Hemet
You won't fight the heat or the cold while you wash. Our air-conditioned laundromat stays comfortable year-round with full air conditioning and heating.
Customers tell us other laundromats get too hot during Hemet's 100-degree summers. Ours doesn't. You can fold and wait in comfort no matter how high the temperature climbs outside.
New Location
The Laundry Hamper in San Jacinto
Now you've got a second spot to wash. Visit us at 1481 S. San Jacinto Avenue, in the Cardenas Shopping Center. Whether you live in Hemet, San Jacinto, Winchester, Valle Vista, Sage, or East Hemet, one of our laundromats is near you.
Buy tokens here or at The Laundry Hamper and use them at either spot — no need to keep track of where you got them.
One Token, Two locations
Tokens Work at Both Locations
- Tokens are easier to carry and use. You only need 11 tokens instead of 44 quarters for the 8 load machine.
- Tokens help nonprofits give assistance. Schools and groups that help families can buy tokens from us. It's easier than dealing with vouchers.
- We always have coins for you. With tokens, people can't just take our quarters and leave. You'll always find the coins you need.

Helpful Info
Laundromat FAQ's:
Is it Sanitary to Wash Your Clothes at a Laundromat?
Yes, and at The Laundry Basket we make sure of it. Our attendants clean the floors, machines, and folding surfaces all day long, not just at closing. We also keep 99% of our machines running every day, so you're never stuck with a neglected washer. Detergent and a hot dryer cycle take care of most germs, which is why washing clothes at a laundromat is sanitary when you use the right settings. For extra peace of mind, use warm or hot water for towels and bedding and dry them on high heat.
Does The Laundry Basket offer fluff & fold service?
Yes we do! We offer both same day and next day service with a 15 lb. minimum. Come try it out today.
Is there a laundromat near me open 24 hours?
There’s no 24-hour laundromat in Hemet or San Jacinto right now, and there’s a good reason. Staying open around the clock means paying someone to work the overnight shift or leaving the laundromat unattended, and payroll is one of the biggest costs a laundromat carries. We’d rather keep a real person on the floor for everything our attendants take care of all day, so we’re open 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. every day, with early 5 a.m. starts on Mondays and Fridays.
Do the washer or dryers give change?
The washers and dryers themselves don't provide change, but change machines are available on-site, so you can get exact cash or tokens before you start.
Can bed bugs spread at a laundromat?
They can, but it's less likely than most people think. Bed bugs don't fly or crawl across floors looking for someone new. They ride along in bags, seams, and folded fabric. Most of the risk comes from how you carry your laundry in, not from the machines. Bring it in a sealed plastic bag, load it straight into the machine, and run a hot dryer cycle for at least 30 minutes. For the full step-by-step, see how to handle a bed bug load at the laundromat.
Does The Laundry Basket offer dry cleaning?
The Laundry Basket is not a dry cleaner. We are a self-service coin laundromat. We are aware Google and other search results sometimes bundle laundromats and dry cleaners together, so if dry cleaning is what you need, this isn't the right spot, but for everyday wash and dry, we're here seven days a week.
Does The Laundry Basket accept credit cards?
Yes, for our Fluff & Fold drop-off service. We take credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Cash App, with a 1.25% convenience fee on non-cash payments. Our self-service washers and dryers are cash and tokens only. If you’d rather pay by card for self-service, our sister location, The Laundry Hamper in San Jacinto, accepts cards through the Dexter app. Our custom tokens work at both locations.
Does The Laundry Basket sell soap?
Yes — laundry soap, bleach, and softener are available for purchase in the vending machine on the wall next to the changers. It ONLY accepts quarters.
Can I bring my comforter to the laundromat?
Yes. Large-capacity washers handle comforters, sleeping bags, and other bulky loads without a problem.
What is laundromat etiquette?
Laundromat etiquette is about being considerate of the people around you. Remove your laundry as soon as the cycle ends so others can use the machines. Laundry left unattended will be removed to free up equipment for waiting customers. Learn more about the unspoken rules of a laundromat.
